More prints, commissions, and designs

I want to thank everyone who purchased a "Memento Mori" print this week.  They will be shipped out on Monday morning and will be to you shortly.  I hope everyone had a great holiday.

Of Feather and Bone is a vegan straight-edge band from Denver, CO that contacted me a few weeks ago wanting me to design a logo and a new shirt for them.  They are in the studio recording some new songs and I don't doubt that they will rule.  I can't wait to see this design on some hoodies and patches.

Earlier today, my friend, Walter, contacted me about a project he's working on to get money to victims of the hurricane in NYC and the surrounding areas.  The project is called "Storm Support" and if you are an artist or a designer looking to help, consider donating a design.

With the winter solstice around the corner, expect to see some new things.  If you are on instagram and would like to check out progress photos of work, antiques, oddities, and other things I find interesting, follow me @dylanxvx.

Thanks again,

Dylan Garrett Smith

Recently I've been getting a lot of really nice comments about the work I've been posting. I just want to give a sincere thank you to everyone that has been giving kind words of encouragement, everyone that has bought a shirt, print, original piece, pin set, backpatch, etc., everyone that has been sharing my work with their friends, anyone that has gotten one of my illustrations tattooed on their body, everyone that has sent me an email or text saying they are excited about the work I've been making, and everyone that came out to my opening at Grindcore House. Thank you for supporting my artistic endeavors. It's an incredible feeling.

V.I.T.R.I.O.L. Artist Statement

The world around us, unoccupied by unnatural structures and humans, is as striking and inspiring, as it is dark, haunting, and destructive.  A forest illuminated by a full moon can be peaceful and beautiful while also being isolating and terrifying.

I am an activist, artist and occultist with my Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from Pratt Institute of Art in Brooklyn, NY.  My current work is made primarily through techniques in drawing and painting, using ink, white chalk lead, and ashes.   The widening void between civilization and the natural world, the never-ending process of birth-bloom-decay, memento mori, isolation, and the study of esoteric knowledge are themes common in the scenes I create.

Walk past the cleared path and let the moon and flickering candles illuminate the way.  Welcome the dark days; visit the interior of the Earth, and rectifying, you will find the hidden stone.
