This autumn I will be showing new work in a few places. If you're on the west coast in California or on the east coast in Pennsylvania or New York, you'll be able to see what I've been working.
"Horror Business" opens September 29th in San Diego, CA at Left Hand Black Tattoo. The walls will be adorned with what every artist does best, except the canvases are meat cleavers. I'm very excited to see all of the pieces for this show.
In Philadelphia, opening October 13th is a benefit show for the World Wildlife Fund at B2. I will be donating another print edition, as I did for Empty Night Skies, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the WWF. In addition to the print edition, I'll also be donating a t-shirt design that will be printed prior to the opening and available for purchase that evening.
Less than one week later, my first official solo exhibition opens at Grindcore House (1515 S 4th St) in Philadelphia on October 19th. "V.I.T.R.I.O.L." will showcase my newest series of original mixed media works. Celebrate the days of light ending and dark days to come. Arrive early, dress in black. You'll be glad you did.
More information and detail photos coming soon.
Finished up designs for Disobey and As We Were, finishing the album layout for Greek Favourites, painted a 6' x 9' sideshow banner for my now-married friends, Brian & Andi, currently doing two woodcuts for Panda Eyes, made a few small originals and necklaces for the Secret Art Space Summercraft punky flea market to go along with a few things I was already planning on bringing, and constantly working on things for the show at Grindcore in October.
My lack of entries is a good indication of how busy I've been the last couple of months. I've shown my work in two more exhibitions (8x10 Show at Six Eleven Gallery in Ocean City, MD and Empty Night Skies at Grindcore House in Philly, PA), I'm finishing up the album artwork and layout for the Greek Favourites first LP, working on a sideshow banner for my two friends that are getting married, currently doing designs for four more bands, and I have a solo exhibition of my newest work at Grindcore House in Philadelphia, PA opening October 19th, 2012.
Always stay busy.
Since I've been posting less frequently, feel free to follow me on instagram, where I post photos of my antiques, art, and other dark and fun things. @dylanxvx
